While professional watches tend to be classy and refined, casual watches tend to be more rugged, diverse, and even fun. There are a wide range of casual watches including smart watches, field watches, and divers, and while a couple can pass as a dress watch, the biggest difference between the two kinds of watches is that casual watches are not meant to be worn in professional settings, although, there are some exceptions as you'll see in a moment.
Some guys, like me, may not care too much about wearing the right watch for the right situation, but for all of you interested in learning more about the different kinds of casual watches, I spent some more time with Colin Lack, who is basically a watch wizard when it comes to knowing his stuff, discussing what specifically makes a casual watch casual.
Here's what he had to say:
There are a lot of options when it comes to buying a casual watch; perhaps even more than there are for buying a professional watch. I think the most crucial part of shopping for a watch is doing your research and potentially even working with a watch expert like Colin to ensure you buy the perfect watch. Just like when buying an expensive fragrance, you want to be an informed consumer while buying a watch.
